MLBB to launch MCT Southeast Asia in Q4 2026

MOONTON Games announced the MLBB Championship Tour Southeast Asia (MCT SEA) will begin in Q4 2026. The regional circuit will bring non-franchised teams from all 11 Southeast Asian countries into a single competition, and the top two teams will qualify directly for the M8 Main Stage in Istanbul. The inaugural edition will feature a USD 50,000 prize pool and a regional trophy.

The event will include 12 teams split into four groups. Thailand will receive an additional host-country slot for the first edition. Groups A, B and C will send their group winners into the Knockout Playoffs, while the third-placed teams from those groups will enter a Last Chance Qualifier to compete for an extra playoff berth. Group D will contain the domestic champions from the MDL Philippines, MDL Indonesia and MAL Malaysia, who will play for one Knockout stage spot.

Participating teams will earn places through local leagues, regional qualifiers and open league competitions. The circuit is designed for non-franchised clubs, allowing established and emerging squads to compete at the regional level and seek M8 qualification.

The Knockout Playoffs will decide which MCT SEA teams advance to M8. The two highest-placed teams in the Knockout Playoffs will go straight to the M8 Main Stage in Istanbul. The third- and fourth-placed teams will qualify for the M8 Wild Card event in Bangkok, where three teams will advance to the M8 Main Stage.

MCT SEA will be the third regional chapter of the MLBB Championship Tour, joining MCT Americas and MCT East Asia. Organizers intend for the regional circuit to operate within the M8 qualification cycle and to complement existing country-level competitions such as MPL and MDL seasons, which already provide international slots.

The launch is scheduled close to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s 10th anniversary in September 2026. MOONTON Games has framed the calendar so the MCT SEA inaugural edition feeds into the M8 World Championship qualification process.
