Modern Warfare 4 Patch Fixes Hijack Spawns, S&D Exploit

Infinity Ward’s latest Modern Warfare 4 patch improves Hijack respawns, blocks a Search and Destroy defusal exploit and fixes stability, loadout and DMZ bugs.

Infinity Ward has released a Modern Warfare 4 update that addresses multiplayer, loadout and DMZ issues. The patch is live now and includes fixes for stability, crashes and out-of-bounds exploits.

The update improves spawn locations and respawn timing in Hijack. It also fixes an issue that allowed players to defuse the Search and Destroy bomb from an unintended distance or position. The Deathstalker killstreak can no longer leave the map on Rooftops.

Portable Radar now displays the minimap correctly in Hardcore matches. Favorite Operators should work on Collateral, where the feature previously failed. The regional map animation shown during matchmaking has been disabled while Infinity Ward investigates reports that it causes hitching.

The patch fixes menus that closed unexpectedly, finishing-move effects that appeared while players used other menus and custom keybinds that failed to update when splitting inventory stacks. Animation issues that caused enemy players to appear in unintended states have also been addressed.

Loadout fixes prevent non-melee weapons from appearing in melee slots. Ineligible attachments should no longer equip on the M4 and cause a visual glitch. Attachments should reset correctly when players prestige through Gunsmith. DMZ weapon builds are now blocked from appearing as usable loadouts in regular multiplayer.

In DMZ, stash options should no longer appear unexpectedly in the center of the screen. Party leaders can no longer remove teammates from DMZ without their consent. The update removes an out-of-bounds exploit in the FOB and adjusts several locations on Hajin where players could become trapped in rocks.

The Exfil helicopter should no longer disappear while players remain inside. Objective markers for the Dark Zone story mission should identify the correct target, and AI reinforcements in the Shopping mission should appear less often.

Infinity Ward described its current focus as “improving stability, addressing bugs, resolving exploits, and making quality-of-life improvements across the game.” The developer continues to investigate an issue that randomly removes spectators from matches and a network error that can occur when players extract from DMZ with a looted Dog Tag.
