Mogul Life lets players run companies, trade shares

Mogul Life is a free-to-play iOS game where users can found companies, hire staff, set salaries, take firms public and trade shares in a player-driven market.

Mogul Life, released for iOS as a free-to-play download with in-app purchases, lets players found and run companies inside a multiplayer economy. Users can hire staff, set salaries, move through six corporate ranks and take a private company public via an IPO.

Players may operate their own firms or join others as employees. Company founders control hiring and payroll; employees receive wages and can earn performance bonuses. The game includes a defined career ladder for users who want to advance within a company and a separate option to remain in wage-earning roles.

The in-game market links share prices to company activity. Share values change in response to how player-run firms perform inside the game. Users can buy shares directly, trade a higher-volatility in-game cryptocurrency, or provide funding to companies without running day-to-day operations.

A subcontracting feature allows companies to bid for contracts and assign the actual work to other player firms for a margin. That feature requires real players to participate on both sides of the transaction and enables competitive pricing and undercutting strategies between companies.

For players who prefer non-business play, the game includes fishing, mining, logging and farming. Those activities offer resource gathering and social interaction separate from corporate competition.

The developer has not provided details about safeguards against market manipulation or mechanisms to moderate large-scale disruption in the live economy. The game places decisions about salaries, hiring, IPOs and share trading under player control rather than relying solely on programmatic systems.
