Monster Hunter joins Resident Evil Survival Unit in crossover

Joycity and Aniplex will add Monster Hunter monsters and large-scale cooperative hunts to mobile strategy game Resident Evil Survival Unit in a limited-time crossover.

Joycity and Aniplex announced a limited-time crossover that will add Monster Hunter monsters and large-scale cooperative hunts to the mobile strategy survival game Resident Evil Survival Unit. The collaboration will merge Monster Hunter’s giant-monster encounters with Resident Evil Survival Unit’s survival and tactical gameplay.

The partnership covers content for the live mobile title. Joycity and Aniplex said the event will place Monster Hunter beasts into Resident Evil Survival Unit’s infected maps and include massively scaled co-op hunt content. The companies have not released a start date, a list of participating monsters, specific rewards or the event length.

Monster Hunter is a Capcom franchise launched in 2004 that centers on hunting large creatures in cooperative play, gathering resources and crafting gear from monster parts. Its combat focuses on pattern recognition, team coordination and preparation for prolonged fights against single large foes. Resident Evil Survival Unit is a strategy-oriented adaptation of the Resident Evil universe that emphasizes survival mechanics, tactical responses to infected threats and narrative elements tied to the Umbrella Corporation.

Joycity and Aniplex said the crossover will combine those design approaches by inserting Monster Hunter-style engagements into Resident Evil Survival Unit’s maps and scenarios, encouraging coordinated play among teams facing both infection-based hazards and oversized creatures. The companies described the event as limited-time, meaning the content will be available for a set period rather than added permanently to the game.

Park Joon-seung, Head of Strategic Business Division at Joycity, commented: “Through this collaboration between the globally beloved IPs Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, we aim to deliver high-quality content that highlights the unique appeal and strategic fun of each franchise.”

Players can find Resident Evil Survival Unit on the App Store and Google Play. Joycity and Aniplex said full event details and the launch schedule will be posted on the game’s official website and channels when available.
