Mortal Shell 2 Fast Travel: How to Unlock Mether’s Breath

Early in Mortal Shell 2 players must return to Marrow Keep to fast travel. Contribute Ova to add Mether’s Breath and then fast-travel from any activated beacon.

Mortal Shell 2 requires players to return to Marrow Keep to use the game’s initial fast-travel method. After the opening tutorials, the game shows an animated elevator that lifts players to a summit platform in Marrow Keep. From that platform players can select any beacon they have visited and warp there.

That platform is accessible only from inside Marrow Keep, so every journey using the early system begins with a return to the Keep. To go back to Marrow Keep from the field, interact with any activated beacon and choose the option to return to Marrow Keep. Then travel to the top of the Keep and use the platform to pick a destination.

Full fast travel becomes available when Mether’s Breath appears in a beacon’s menu. Mether’s Breath is added after contributing Ova to Marrow Keep. Players earn Ova by cleansing corrupted beacons in the world.

Standard beacons typically grant one or three Ova when cleansed. Cleansing a beacon immediately after defeating a major boss can grant larger sums, sometimes 20 or more. Player reports indicate Mether’s Breath appears after contributing about ten Ova, though the exact amount can vary.

When Mether’s Breath is present in a beacon menu, players can fast-travel from any activated beacon without first returning to Marrow Keep. Interact with a beacon, select Mether’s Breath, use L1 and R1 to cycle regions, choose a target beacon and confirm to warp there. The elevator animation from Marrow Keep does not play during Mether’s Breath travel.

The Marrow Keep platform remains available after unlocking Mether’s Breath for players who want to use it. The practical effect is fewer required returns to Marrow Keep as players collect enough Ova to enable region-wide fast travel.
