MPL Indonesia Season 18 kicks off with two M8 berths

Mobile Legends Professional League Indonesia Season 18 opened Aug. 14, 2026, in Jakarta. Nine teams will compete for an estimated $270,000 prize pool and two direct slots to the M8 World Championship. Matches are staged offline and will be live-streamed on Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s official YouTube and Facebook channels.

The Regular Season uses a double round-robin format with best-of-three matches. The top six teams advance to the Playoffs. The Playoffs are a hybrid elimination bracket: the third through sixth seeds meet in a single-elimination first round while the top two seeds receive a bye. Most playoff matches are best-of-five, with the Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final played as best-of-seven.

Competing organizations are Alter Ego, Team Liquid ID, Bigetron by Vitality, Dewa United Esports, EVOS Glory, Geek Fam ID, ONIC, Natus Vincere and RRQ Hoshi. The top two finishers will earn direct qualification to M8.

The champion is set to receive about $55,500 and a direct M8 slot. The runner-up will receive about $31,000 plus the second slot. Third place will get roughly $15,000, fourth place about $7,500, and fifth and sixth around $3,500 each. Team payouts are allocated by final placement.

Individual awards are planned, with preliminary figures including a Finals MVP at about $1,700 and a Regular Season MVP at around $900. Rookie of the Season, Most Improved Player and First Team selections are listed at approximately $370 each, and Best Coaching Team at about $200. Organizers will confirm the exact distribution before the awards are paid.

Tickets are available for fans who want to attend events in Jakarta. Viewers who cannot attend can watch full coverage on the game’s official streaming channels. The season’s schedule follows the regional roadmap, matching the start date used in other MPL regional leagues.

Organizers have committed to the announced format and schedule. Teams will play the full double round-robin Regular Season to determine playoff seeding, where higher seeds receive advantages such as byes in the opening playoff round.
