MPL Malaysia Season 18 to Offer Two M8 World Slots

MPL Malaysia Season 18 runs Aug. 14–Oct. 18, 2026, with eight teams competing offline for two direct qualification slots to the M8 World Championship.

MPL Malaysia Season 18 will run from August 14 to October 18, 2026. The tournament is scheduled as an offline event and will award two direct qualification slots to the M8 World Championship to the two highest finishing teams.

The Regular Season begins on August 14 and follows a double round-robin format. All Regular Season matches will be best-of-three. The top six teams from the Regular Season will advance to the Playoffs.

The Playoffs will use a hybrid elimination format. The third through sixth seeds will meet in a single-elimination opening round while the first and second seeds receive a bye. Playoff matches will be best-of-five, except the Lower Bracket Final and the Grand Final, which are scheduled as best-of-seven series.

Organizers confirmed the event will use the partnership system for the second consecutive year and that domestic Malaysian organizations will compete alongside invited international squads. The eight teams entered for the Regular Season are Selangor Red Giants, Team Vamos, Team Rey, Rex Regum Qeon, Bigetron MY by VIT, All Combo, Invictus Gaming and Team Flash.

Organizers have not published the official prize pool. Some reports indicate the distribution may mirror prior seasons, with the champion receiving about $25,000 and the runner-up about $13,000; final prize details are expected before the tournament starts. Individual awards for notable player performances will also be given during the event.

Mobile Legends developer MOONTON Games continues to schedule regional competitions leading into major international events such as M8. Teams will use the season’s results to pursue international representation and fans can follow official league channels for match schedules and updates.
