MSI 2026 Final Peaks at 2.2M Viewers, Trails T1–G2

Hanwha Life Esports beat Bilibili Gaming 3-2 to win MSI 2026. The final peaked at 2.2 million viewers, below the 2.32 million peak for T1’s earlier match against G2 Esports.

Hanwha Life Esports defeated Bilibili Gaming 3-2 to win the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational in Daejeon, South Korea. The event ran June 28 to July 12 at the Daejeon Convention Center II. The title is Hanwha Life’s first MSI championship in the organization’s debut appearance and is the third consecutive season the trophy remained in South Korea after Gen.G won in 2024 and 2025.

The grand final reached a peak audience of 2.2 million viewers, excluding Chinese livestreaming platforms. That peak was lower than the 2.32 million peak recorded during T1’s earlier match against G2 Esports, making MSI 2026 the first edition since 2023 in which the final was not the tournament’s most-watched match.

Compared with the 2025 edition, MSI 2026 showed declines across several metrics. Total Hours Watched fell by more than 17 percent and Peak Viewers dropped by more than 32 percent. Average Viewers decreased by 7.8 percent, a smaller decline than those recorded for total hours and peak figures.

Organizers and industry analysts cited two factors behind the declines: a shorter broadcast schedule, with roughly eight fewer hours than in 2025, and the early elimination of T1, a team that has historically driven large viewership numbers.

The tournament featured 11 teams competing for a $2 million prize pool. The next cross-regional League of Legends event, the Esports World Cup, is scheduled for July 15-19 with 16 teams competing for a $2 million prize pool.
