Nanterre Stage 4 Major Sets Call of Duty Viewership Record

Stage 4 Major in Nanterre drew more than 378,000 peak viewers, the highest peak in Call of Duty esports history, and logged over 4.7 million hours watched.

The Call of Duty League 2026 Stage 4 Major in Nanterre, France, drew more than 378,000 peak viewers, the highest peak for a Call of Duty esports event. The tournament recorded over 4.7 million hours watched and entered the all-time top 10 for total viewing time.

Local support for Paris Gentle Mates was the main driver of the audience surge. The team competes under the Paris Gentle Mates brand despite having four American players on its active roster. The organisation’s on-site presence and French branding attracted large numbers of French and other European viewers.

Corentin “Gotaga” Houssein, a French streamer and co-owner of Gentle Mates, ran a community broadcast that outperformed the official league feed and other co-streams. The semifinal between Paris Gentle Mates and OpTic Gaming was the single most-watched match of the event, drawing a larger audience than the Grand Final. After Gentle Mates were eliminated, French-language peak viewership for the final fell by nearly 100,000 viewers compared with the semifinal peak.

By peak viewers, the Stage 4 Major set a new league record. In total viewing hours the event placed just inside the franchise’s top 10. Some entertainment-focused streamer events within the wider franchise have attracted larger single-event audiences.

The 2026 season has shown rising live viewership for the league. Each Major in 2026 exceeded the comparable Major from 2025 in peak viewership. The most-watched Major in 2025 reached about 233,000 peak viewers; the least-watched Major in 2026 surpassed 260,000 peak viewers.

Team partnerships expanded the league’s reach. The Los Angeles Guerrillas partnered with Gentle Mates to form Paris Gentle Mates, and Toronto Ultra partnered with Spanish organisation Movistar KOI to compete as Toronto KOI. Those alliances brought French and Spanish fan bases into the league.

OpTic Gaming reached the Grand Final at every Major in 2026, appearing in multiple marquee matches across the season. Two of the three most-watched Call of Duty esports tournaments on record occurred during the 2026 season.

The Call of Duty League Championship is scheduled for Las Vegas from July 16–19. The tournament will feature the top eight teams in the standings, including OpTic Texas, Los Angeles Thieves and Paris Gentle Mates.
