NetEase schedules anime open-world ANANTA for Jan. 15, 2027
NetEase will release anime-style open-world RPG ANANTA globally on Jan. 15, 2027 for PC, mobile and PlayStation 5; pre-registration is open.
NetEase announced that ANANTA, its anime-style open-world role-playing game, will launch globally on January 15, 2027 for PC, mobile and PlayStation 5. The studio revealed the release date during gamescom Opening Night Live 2026 and opened pre-registration through the game’s official website and the Google Play Store.
ANANTA is set in multiple urban locations, including Nova City and Chongxiao’s Lingyun City, each presented with distinct daily life and local details. The game pairs ordinary city scenes with supernatural elements that are woven into the environment and story.
Players can form a squad, travel between cities, use vehicles to move through urban areas, interact with residents and undertake activities tied to local communities. The narrative includes investigations into hidden threats that lie beneath the cities’ surfaces.
Combat is built on fast-paced martial arts moves combined with character-specific supernatural abilities. A trailer shown at gamescom highlighted character designs, city environments and action sequences, emphasizing the contrast between routine city life and more mysterious encounters.
The project first appeared publicly as Project MUGEN and was showcased at gamescom in August 2023. Since that reveal, NetEase has released additional trailers and gameplay details that outline world-building, city-focused exploration and character-driven scenarios.
Pre-registration is available now via the official ANANTA website and on Android through the Google Play Store. NetEase confirmed the January 15, 2027 release date applies to all announced platforms, and Android store links are live ahead of launch.
