NIKKE Project Matis adds two upgraded SSRs, voiced event

The Project Matis update for Goddess of Victory: NIKKE arrives July 23, 2026. It introduces upgraded versions of SSR characters Laplace and Maxwell, a fully voiced PROJECT MATIS story event that runs through August 12, new costumes, Archives additions and several system improvements aimed at late-stage play.

Two new SSR Nikkes are available. Laplace: Ultimate Hero is an Attacker who increases her own offensive stats and deals heavy multi-target damage when activating her Burst Skill. She uses the rocket launcher Ultimate Hero Syndrome, carries the Wind code and is affiliated with Missilis Industry. Maxwell: Ordinary Mechanic is a Supporter whose Burst raises her attack power and also boosts the squad’s overall offensive capability. Maxwell wields My Heavenly Cutey, carries the Wind code and is likewise linked to Missilis Industry.

The PROJECT MATIS story event is fully voiced and centers on Laplace and Maxwell receiving upgraded bodies as the Third Surface Reclamation War approaches. The narrative follows Syuen observing their transformations and beginning to recall past events. Players can play story stages, earn event items by clearing stages, face a Challenge Stage with difficult boss encounters, and exchange event currency for Recruit Vouchers, skill enhancement materials and other in-game rewards.

Cosmetic content includes Laplace: Ultimate Hero – Prototype Hero as a limited costume obtainable via the PROTOTYPE PASS with full voiceover. Maxwell receives Maxwell: Ordinary Mechanic – Chief Researcher through the August Mission Pass. Dorothy – Nostalgia returns to Costume Gacha with full voiceover, a Burst Skill cutscene, a standing pose and special SD motion.

The update adds the prior event NEW FLAVOR to the Archives, unlockable with Memory Films earned through PROJECT MATIS participation. PROJECT MATIS is added to the Storyline menu. A HERO DAYS 14-day login event launches alongside the update and offers rewards for returning players.

System and quality-of-life changes include advanced sound settings for the TRACING THE STARS rhythm game, improved Social Point collection, a reorganized Lobby interface, and a Quick Use feature for inventory boxes. New Favorite Item selections include Phantom, Sugar, Rosanna and Flora, plus additional profile decorations, titles and lobby backgrounds.

Recruitment content and Archives additions accompany the rollout to help teams incorporate the new SSRs. The update launches globally on July 23, 2026, and the PROJECT MATIS event runs through August 12, 2026.
