Ocarina of Time remake gets a Nov. 5 release date

Nintendo will release The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2 on Nov. 5, 2026. More information may emerge Oct. 14, possibly when previews lift.

Nintendo will release The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Nintendo Switch 2 on Nov. 5, 2026. The date places the game in Nintendo’s holiday release period and just over three weeks from publication of this report.

Nintendo announced the remake during its June Nintendo Direct and has shared few details since then. Recent posts from the official Zelda Japan social accounts confirmed that Navi’s “Hey! Listen!” line will return.

The remake will feature fully voice-acted cutscenes involving Ganondorf, Princess Zelda and other major characters. Navi will have more dialogue than in the 1998 Nintendo 64 release.

Nintendo has confirmed that the remake will retain the original game’s structure and content while adding updated visuals and other modern features. Necro Felipe, who previously described the project as an ambitious adaptation rather than a direct recreation, has hinted that more information could be released on Oct. 14.

The possible timing follows a recent Nintendo event where journalists were invited to play Nintendo Switch 2 Sports Resort. Nintendo has not confirmed whether the Ocarina of Time remake was available at that event or whether preview coverage will be published on Oct. 14.

The original The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was released for Nintendo 64 in 1998. The remake is scheduled to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on Nov. 5, 2026.
