Once Human’s Isles of Abyss update adds naval gameplay
Once Human’s Isles of Abyss update is now available, adding naval gameplay, five hazard zones, new bosses and a four-player raid against an island-sized enemy.
The update lets players build and operate vessels as they advance through a nautical technology tree. Progression starts with sail-powered rafts and leads to larger warships with stronger weapons for exploration and combat.
Isles of Abyss adds five hazard zones with environmental dangers and obstacles. Players must overcome these threats and acquire ways to resist their effects while exploring the new areas.
The update introduces bosses across three phases. The first phase centers on Towers of Calamity, biomechanical lighthouses located across the regions. Multiple players must work together to defeat them.
The second phase adds more bosses and randomly appearing Corruption Zones for players across each server. The final phase features The Sunken Lord, a four-player cooperative raid against a boss described as being the size of an island.
The update includes new events connected to the 2027 Green Game Jam. Once Human is a survival shooter in which players explore a dangerous world, gather resources and cooperate against large-scale threats.
