Onimusha: Way of the Sword Hits 2M Wishlists Ahead of Launch

Capcom says Onimusha: Way of the Sword surpassed 2 million wishlists across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC ahead of its Sept. 4, 2026 release.

Capcom announced that Onimusha: Way of the Sword has surpassed 2 million wishlists across all supported platforms ahead of its Sept. 4, 2026 release.

The total covers PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Capcom describes Way of the Sword as a single-player action-adventure and a direct sequel in the Onimusha series, with a focus on melee combat and supernatural elements on current-generation hardware.

Capcom made a free demo available before launch; the company reported the demo exceeded one million downloads.

Wishlist and demo figures indicate pre-release interest but do not directly translate to sales. Capcom will disclose concrete sales and player counts after the game ships.

Way of the Sword is scheduled to arrive on Sept. 4, 2026, across the four platforms listed. Information released to date emphasizes a single-player campaign rather than multiplayer features.
