Overwatch 2 Season 4: D. Mon, Battle Pass Overhaul

Season 4 adds Tank hero D. Mon and her mech Beast, reworks the Battle Pass, updates Busan and other maps, and runs events including MEKA Mania and the World Cup Cheer Rally.

Blizzard launched Season 4 for Overwatch 2 with a new Tank hero, a Battle Pass redesign, map updates tied to the game’s story, combat feedback improvements and several time-limited events.

D. Mon, also known as Yuna Lee, joins the hero roster alongside her mech, Beast. Her kit includes a close-range Plasma Saber, a Power Barrier to shield allies, Propulsors for rapid movement, a Fusion Repeater for ranged fire and an ultimate called Limit Break designed to help teammates close gaps. The character’s arrival is connected to a season storyline that puts the Junkers in Busan while Talon targets the MEKA base.

The Battle Pass has been changed so players choose which Legendary skin to progress toward after the initial tier segment. Premium Battle Pass owners receive a one-time Tier Hack that lets them swap an eligible Legendary for another item from the season’s Swap Pool, which includes Raijin Ashe, Mob Boss Junker Queen, Cardboard Reinhardt, Sakura Lifeweaver and Crustacean Wrecking Ball. Season 4 also introduces Unvaulted Passes, which let players continue earning rewards from past Battle Passes alongside the current track. Premium season rewards include the Divine Demon D. Mon skin, Metalcore Junker Queen, 20 Battle Pass tier skips and 2,000 Overwatch Coins. Players can earn up to 80 Mythic Prisms to spend on mythic cosmetics or customizations.

Maps receive visual and gameplay updates aligned with the season plot. Busan shows damage and repairs, graffiti, burning wreckage and sections of the MEKA under repair, and players can access a personal room for D. Mon inside the MEKA. Paraíso gains festival decorations. Lúcio’s Clube Sinestesia gets new routes, shortcuts and additional high-ground paths near key points. Eichenwalde adds new movement options around the first chokepoint, including a breakable piano shop that attackers can use to reach higher ground.

Season 4 runs several time-limited events. Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania runs from August 11 to August 31 and offers choose-your-pilot passes; each completed pass counts as a vote for that pilot’s global popularity and completing all passes unlocks a Prestige track. Team Drives runs September 4–6 and keeps players grouped with teammates they recently won with; wins accelerate progression through Gladiator ranks while Hero Bans and map voting remain active in competitive queues. The World Cup Cheer Rally runs September 1–14; players pick a region-AMER, EMEA or ASIA-earn Cheer via in-game challenges or qualifying broadcasts, and trade Cheer for Battle Pass XP, Loot Boxes, esports Loot Boxes, skins and titles. Region-specific skins include Venture and Illari for AMER, Freja and Hazard for EMEA, and Wuyang and Juno for ASIA.

Combat feedback additions aim to make match state easier to read. A Team Status Indicator above the kill feed shows how many players are alive on each side. Tanks receive a Protect stat that records damage mitigation that would have been lethal to allies. Other adjustments include clearer healing effects, improved health-bar feedback, new multi-kill icons and expanded activity feed entries showing damage contribution toward eliminations.

Two mythic cosmetics arrive with the season. Koi of Duality Genji provides four customization levels that change hairstyle and color and culminate in glowing koi effects. The Eternal Crystal Sojourn weapon skin evolves as Sojourn secures eliminations, unlocking special reload animations and a crystalline kill effect at higher tiers.

Season 4 includes the new hero, map updates, Battle Pass changes, quality-of-life combat indicators and multiple event windows, with specific dates and rewards outlined for players to access during the season.
