Palworld nears 1M concurrent players after 1.0 relaunch
Palworld peaked at 956,613 concurrent players on its second weekend after the July 10 1.0 release, ranking second on Steam behind Counter-Strike 2.
Pocketpair’s Palworld reached 956,613 simultaneous players across its second full weekend since the July 10 release of version 1.0, according to SteamCharts. The number placed the game second on Steam’s most-played chart, behind Counter-Strike 2.
The 1.0 update added 72 new Pals, a World Tree endgame zone, a reworked story, a wing pack glider, raid bosses and PvP, aquatic base building and a breeding mutation system. The release also introduced crossplay between Steam and Xbox and expanded raid and endgame content.
Pocketpair kept the game’s price at $29.99 at full release. The studio reported roughly 5 million copies sold in the first three days of 1.0, and total player accounts across platforms have surpassed 40 million.
Palworld previously reached about 2.1 million concurrent players during early access in January 2024. Both that early access peak and the 1.0 launch placed the game on Steam’s all-time top 15 list.
On Steam’s weekend chart, Palworld’s 1.0 peak pushed Dota 2 to third place for the second consecutive weekend. The weekend surge matched the title’s strongest sustained increase in player numbers since early access.
Palworld is a creature-collecting survival game that combines open-world exploration with base building, cooperative play and competitive elements. The game gained major attention during early access and has continued to receive large content updates through and after the full 1.0 launch.
