Paralives’ First Major Update Delayed Until Early 2027
Paralives Studio expects its first major update in early 2027, after expanding the plan to include new skills, jobs, relationship features and gameplay fixes.
Paralives Studio has moved the expected release of the first major update for its life simulation game from the end of 2026 to early 2027. Project Lead Alex Massé attributed the delay to the expanded scope of the update, which was shaped by player feedback.
The studio reviewed hundreds of thousands of reports, emails, messages and comments while selecting improvements. The update will focus on the core gameplay experience before work begins on later features such as weather, seasons, gardening, pets, cars, world editing and additional creation tools.
New conversation options will let players flirt, argue, joke and get to know other characters in more ways. Townies will be able to prompt responses through Together Cards, and new rewards will become available as relationships develop across categories including friendship, romance and rivalry.
Additional interactions will respond to characters’ emotions and personalities. Some Parafolks will be able to choose more actions autonomously based on their traits. Group activities such as eating, watching television and sitting together will receive talking animations.
The update will rebalance the in-game economy by changing starting funds, lot prices, salary progression and item costs. The studio described money as too easy to earn. More expensive furniture and utility objects will offer stronger benefits and break less often than cheaper versions.
The Jester trait will be adjusted to create a clearer humorous and playful identity. Community Center bundles will provide different rewards, while more life goals and higher payouts for Townie requests will add progression options.
The update is planned to include two new skills and related interactions, plus several jobs in a field the studio has not yet announced. More Together Cards will expand conversation branches, including options that become available as relationships progress. New Story Cards will give players more choices for directing a household’s development each night.
Build Mode and the Paramaker character-creation tool will receive new furniture, objects, hairstyles and clothing. The game will add wider fat and muscle sliders to represent more body shapes, along with additional loose-fitting clothing.
The update will also address bugs that can make floors or objects disappear, corrupt lots or prevent lots from loading. The studio is reviewing the feature list and warned that some planned items could move to a later update while others may be added.
“We originally announced that this first major update would be released for the end of 2026, but we need a little more time to do all this well,” the studio wrote. It plans to provide further progress reports before the update is released.
