Planet Zoo 2 previews Indo‑Pacific leopard shark

Frontier released an Animal Spotlight video showing the Indo‑Pacific leopard shark’s behavior, habitat needs and mixed‑species compatibility ahead of the Oct. 13, 2026 launch.

Frontier Developments released an Animal Spotlight video previewing the Indo‑Pacific leopard shark for Planet Zoo 2. The studio outlined the shark’s behavior, habitat requirements and suitability for mixed‑species aquariums ahead of the game’s Oct. 13, 2026 launch on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Planet Zoo 2 is available to pre‑order.

The video describes the species’ appearance across life stages. Juveniles carry bold zebra‑like stripes that resemble venomous sea snakes and may deter predators. As they mature, the stripes fade and adults develop long tails and a spotted pattern that have led to the shark’s common names.

Frontier described the shark as “calm, graceful and naturally curious about exploring every corner of its habitat.” In the game the animal is presented as relatively relaxed compared with other shark species. It prefers open water for gliding and soft sand for resting.

The developer noted enrichment items help keep the sharks stimulated and that the animals are typically most active at night. Players must provide adequate space and appropriate substrate to meet the species’ needs and support nocturnal activity.

The video confirmed the Indo‑Pacific leopard shark can cohabit with rays and various fish, allowing mixed‑species aquarium designs that permit natural interactions. The addition expands Planet Zoo 2’s aquatic roster and adds another option for creating varied aquarium exhibits.
