Playtiles and Mega Cat bundle credit-card controller with 7 games

Playtiles has partnered with Mega Cat Studios to sell a limited-edition credit card–shaped controller bundled with seven retro-style games. Pre-orders are open now for €25, with shipping scheduled to begin in October.

The controller uses Playtiles’ Gecko-Grip technology to attach to a phone screen and provides physical buttons intended to recreate a handheld console experience on modern smartphones. The device is compact and designed to sit over the phone display while controls remain accessible.

The bundle includes seven titles from Mega Cat Studios: Kudzu, Little Medusa, Old Towers, Romeow and Julicat, Coffee Crisis, Misplaced and Devwill Too MD. The selection covers puzzlers, platformers and a fighting game, each built with a retro visual style that matches the controller’s Game Boy–style form factor.

All bundled games are DRM-free. Buyers receive permanent ownership of the included titles and may export the files for use in emulators or transfer them to flash cartridges if they choose.

Playtiles will provide its PlaytilesOS on the device. The software allows users to sideload Game Boy and Game Boy Color ROMs they legally own, expanding the range of playable software beyond the seven included games.

Playtiles presents the offer as a limited-edition release. Pre-orders are available now at the stated price, and the company expects to begin shipping in October.
