Pokémon GO Festival of Lights returns to India Nov. 6–8
Pokémon GO’s Festival of Lights returns to India Nov. 6–8, 2026, featuring Pikachu in a saree and Pikachu in a kurta in raids and special encounters, with Shiny and Special Background chances.
Scopely Explore, Inc. announced that Pokémon GO’s Festival of Lights will run in India from Friday, Nov. 6, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. local time through Sunday, Nov. 8 at 8:00 p.m. local time. The event will feature two costumed Pikachu-one wearing a saree and one wearing a kurta-appearing in raids and special encounters, with chances for Shiny forms and Special Backgrounds.
Timed Research with branching tasks begins on Nov. 1 and offers rewards including experience points, Stardust and stickers depicting the costumed Pikachu. Collection Challenges available during the event reward experience points and Stardust for catching event-themed Pokémon.
Sparkle O’Clock will run each evening in four five-minute windows that increase wild encounters at 6:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. local time. Featured wild and lure-attracted Pokémon include Charmander, Chinchou, Mareep, Camerupt, Litwick, Lampent, Morelull and Tadbulb, in addition to the saree- and kurta-clad Pikachu.
Lure Modules will receive an event-themed boost that raises the chance of those Pokémon appearing near active Lures and will last three times longer during the event. Spinning PokéStops can reward stickers showing Pikachu in a saree or kurta. Some event-themed Pokémon may also appear glowing.
During the three-day period trainers in India can participate in raids, timed research, Collection Challenges and boosted wild spawns to obtain event rewards and capture the costumed Pikachu variants.
