Project Diablo 2 Season 14 adds multi-tab stash, tracking

Project Diablo 2 previewed Season 14, adding an overhauled multi-tab stash with Unique and Set tracking, a 25 million shared gold cap, and a server-wide Discovery Progress system.

The Project Diablo 2 mod team previewed Season 14, detailing changes to inventory, item tracking and endgame systems. The update focuses on a redesigned stash, shared gold limits and a server-side progress tracker for collected items.

The mod team, led by community developer SenpaiSomething, separated the stash into multiple tabs: Uniques, Sets, Maps, Gems and Runes. The Uniques and Sets tabs can each hold one copy of every item type in their category. For items a player does not yet own, those tabs will display possible stat ranges. Maps are grouped by tier. An optional “affinity” toggle will auto-sort items into the correct page when they are dropped into the stash.

Personal gold per character has been removed and replaced by a shared stash gold cap of 25 million. The team described the change as a consolidation of currency into the shared space.

Season 14 introduces a Discovery Progress system that records which Unique and Set items a player has found. Progress is recorded for any player who was present both when an item dropped and when it was identified. Completing a collection awards a Discovery aura and triggers a server-wide announcement; the team said the identification requirement aims to limit exploitation.

Other changes include updates to Jewels, which can roll up to +5% elemental damage as a prefix, and improvements to rune crafting that allow runes to be socketed directly from a stack. The character screen gains new sorting options. Several items received rare alternate skins with a small chance to drop.

A new map type called The Bitter Depths, created by contributor Roofooevazan, joins the endgame rotation. Endgame maps will show a “monsters remaining” counter once fewer than 100 enemies remain in a zone.

Balance adjustments include Blaze granting phasing so characters can move through enemies, Blessed Hammer projectiles no longer colliding with walls or objects, and a rework of the Gloom Runeword that adds the ability to apply an additional curse. The team noted Season 14 builds on the mod’s existing endgame mapping system, which is inspired by other ARPG mapping systems and includes high-difficulty pinnacle boss encounters.

Project Diablo 2 has delivered six years of seasonal updates that added new items, skills, enemies and numerous quality-of-life improvements. The team has not announced a release date for Season 14. SenpaiSomething scheduled a further preview stream for Saturday, September 26.

Players must own the original Diablo II and the Lord of Destruction expansion to play the mod.
