Puzzle & Dragons launches Gintama collaboration

GungHo Online Entertainment has launched a Gintama crossover inside the Puzzle & Dragons mobile game. The event adds six collab-exclusive dungeons that are available only during the campaign and runs through July 12.

Players who include Gintama collab characters in their teams receive boosted progress in a new Gintama quest added for the event. The boost applies while the collab characters are active in a player’s team during the event.

The campaign also distributes in-game rewards and limited-time items intended to help players clear difficult floors and to obtain collab characters. After July 12 the Gintama dungeons and event bonuses will be removed from the game’s regular rotation.

Gintama is a comedy-action anime that premiered in the mid-2000s. The series follows former samurai Gintoki Sakata together with Shinpachi Shimura and Kagura in an alternate-history Japan occupied by alien visitors called the Amanto. Characters from Gintama have been featured in mobile game collaborations previously.

Puzzle & Dragons pairs match-three puzzle mechanics with role-playing elements and regularly runs crossover events that add themed dungeons, characters and rewards. GungHo released other updates to the game in June; the Gintama collaboration is included in the recent content updates. Players must participate before the July 12 deadline to access the exclusive dungeons and event bonuses.
