Puzzle & Dragons teams with Gintama for six collab dungeons
Puzzle & Dragons launched a Gintama collaboration that runs through July 12, adding six exclusive dungeons and quest progress bonuses for teams using Gintama characters.
GungHo Online Entertainment has launched a limited-time collaboration between its mobile game Puzzle & Dragons and the anime Gintama. The event runs through July 12 and adds six exclusive Gintama dungeons to the game.
The collaboration includes a new Gintama quest. Players who include collab characters such as Gintoki, Shinpachi Shimura and Kagura on their teams receive increased quest progress, which can help when clearing the event dungeons and claiming rewards. The in-game promotion also offers event-specific items and prizes available during the run.
All collab content is available inside the Puzzle & Dragons live service. Players can access the new dungeons, recruit collab characters and claim rewards from within the game client during the event period.
Puzzle & Dragons has run multiple anime crossover events in the past, and Gintama has appeared in earlier collaborations with the title. The game combines match-3 puzzle mechanics with RPG-style team building, a structure that the developer has used to integrate licensed characters into short-term events and longer promotions.
Gintama is a comedy-action anime that premiered in the mid-2000s. The series follows retired samurai Gintoki and his companions in an alternate Japan occupied by alien forces, and its characters and scenarios are the basis for the collab dungeons and rewards in Puzzle & Dragons.
The event remains active through July 12. Players interested in the collab can log into Puzzle & Dragons to participate, recruit characters and claim associated rewards before the event ends.
