Ragnarok Universe launches browser-based technical test
Gravity has begun a technical test for Ragnarok Universe, an HTML5 MMORPG playable in mobile and PC browsers without a client download, offering cross-platform play in selected regions.
Gravity has launched a technical test for Ragnarok Universe, an HTML5-based MMORPG that runs in web browsers on mobile and PC without a client download. The test is live now and supports cross-platform play for users outside several restricted regions.
The title is developed by Gravity and built with HTML5 technology, which lets players access a 3D open world directly through a browser on phones, tablets and desktop machines. Gravity describes Ragnarok Universe as a new entry inspired by the original Ragnarok Online rather than a continuation of earlier mobile releases such as Ragnarok M.
During the technical test, players can form parties to challenge large PvE bosses, ride mounts to traverse the map, discover hidden locations, navigate dungeon traps and trade weapons and items with other adventurers. Official footage released by Gravity shows environments and character models rendering smoothly for a browser client.
Gravity has opened participation through the game’s official Discord, where testers can find instructions to join the ongoing trial. The company has not provided a regional rollout schedule or a commercial launch date as part of this phase.
The test is not available in the European Union, Brazil, South Korea, Japan and Mainland China. Gravity is using the technical test to evaluate performance and collect player feedback across different browsers and device types.
Ragnarok Universe retains core elements of the original game, including party-based combat, a variety of monsters and item trading, and delivers them in a browser-friendly format that removes the need for separate client downloads and updates.
Testers and fans can follow Gravity’s official channels for future announcements about wider availability, technical fixes and potential changes based on feedback gathered during the test.
