Rainbow Six Mobile to Shut Down Before First Anniversary
Rainbow Six Mobile will shut down on Jan. 15, 2027, about 11 months after its global launch. Ubisoft plans to release the next season as scheduled.
Rainbow Six Mobile will shut down on Jan. 15, 2027, less than a year after its global launch. The closure will end Ubisoft’s mobile version of its 5v5 tactical shooter.
The game will remain available until the shutdown date. Ubisoft plans to release the next season next week, after which the game will enter its final period of service.
Rainbow Six Mobile launched worldwide in February 2026 after several years of testing and delays. Ubisoft first announced the game in 2022, followed by multiple test phases before its global release.
The game featured operators, destructible environments, team-based matches and maps adapted from the Rainbow Six Siege series. Ubisoft highlighted 15 seasons of tournaments, strategies, videos, memes and notable plays created by the community.
Rainbow Six Mobile recorded about 6.75 million downloads during its first 30 days, according to reported data. Ubisoft has not attributed the shutdown to weak player interest or revenue and has not provided a specific reason for ending the service.
The game launched during a competitive period for mobile shooters. The Division Resurgence, another Ubisoft mobile title, arrived two months later. Mobile games commonly require regular updates and continued spending to retain players after launch.
