Ravenswatch Free Trial Offers Fairy-Tale Co-Op Action

Ravenswatch is available to try through Oct. 19, with its base-game roster playable solo or in co-op with up to four friends.

Ravenswatch, a fairy-tale action roguelike from Passtech Games, is available to try through Oct. 19. The free trial began Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. PT and is scheduled to end at the same time on Oct. 19.

The trial includes the base-game roster in solo play and cooperative sessions with up to four friends. Players can explore open zones, complete objectives, collect upgrades and fight regional bosses before each run’s time limit ends.

The game features characters based on fairy tales and fantasy stories. Scarlet changes from a human fighter into a werewolf at night. The Pied Piper commands rats, Merlin uses elemental spells, and Geppetto deploys puppets and attacks enemies with a hammer.

Each run gives players three days and three nights to strengthen a character before facing a regional boss. Defeating enemies and completing activities provides experience, boons and shards for improving abilities. Objectives include helping the Three Little Pigs defend their house and rescuing Sinbad from a Cyclops.

Ravenswatch supports solo play and co-op sessions. Some characters have abilities that work together, including Romeo, a swordsman, and Juliet, a gunslinger. Juliet can detonate Romeo’s roses, while the pair can combine their attacks in close-range moves.

Before the trial, Passtech Games released an update that changed the hero talent system with more than 50 adjustments and additions. The update included balance changes based on player feedback and added custom lobbies.

The update also introduced Kintaro, a downloadable character who can fight while riding the bear Kuma or battle on foot with an axe. Kuma can operate as an independent ally that players direct during combat.

Ravenswatch is available at a 50% discount on Steam through Oct. 22. The sale price is $12.49 or £10.49 for players who continue after the trial.
