Rockstar discounts GTA back catalogue ahead of GTA 6

Rockstar has discounted older Grand Theft Auto games across Steam, Xbox and PlayStation stores, with record lows such as GTA IV for $6.99 on Xbox and GTA V Enhanced for $14.99 on Steam.
Rockstar Games has reduced prices on multiple older Grand Theft Auto titles across Steam, the Xbox Store and the PlayStation Store. Notable offers include Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox for $6.99 and Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced on Steam for $14.99, with other franchise entries available at lower-than-usual prices.
The discounts apply to Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced at $14.99 on Steam, Grand Theft Auto V Story Mode for $9.99 on the Xbox Store, Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox for $6.99, GTA IV add-ons at $4.99 each, and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for about $19.79 on PlayStation and Xbox. Many of those prices are listed as platform record lows. The Xbox Ultimate Game Sale is scheduled to run through July 29, and several Steam and console storefront sales with Rockstar titles extend into late July. Retailers show specific offer end dates generally between July 28 and July 30. There are no equivalent discounts on the Nintendo eShop at present.
The price reductions coincide with seasonal sales events on major digital storefronts. Publishers commonly adjust catalogue pricing near major releases; Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, has a scheduled earnings call in the near term.
Technical and content differences between editions are relevant for buyers. Grand Theft Auto IV is noted for a darker narrative but can be difficult to run on modern PC hardware; some licensed music tracks are absent from later reissues and the Xbox version is frequently reported as the smoother option for that title. Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced is the most recent version of GTA V, runs on current systems and includes the franchise’s current gameplay and online features. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition launched with performance and visual issues and has been patched post-release; some players use community mods to alter or restore elements of the original games.
Grand Theft Auto V’s online component has generated ongoing revenue through paid content and player-hosted modes such as roleplay servers, keeping the game commercially active for more than a decade. Lower catalogue prices reduce the cost of entry for new players and make it easier for returning players to reinstall older entries.
Consumers should check platform-specific edition details, file sizes and system requirements before purchasing. Some editions may lack original licensed music or present compatibility quirks on modern systems.
