Sakumon launches on iOS and Android with toy tie-ins
Sakumon launched on iOS and Android, offering collectible creature battles, a multiplayer island hub and physical figurines that unlock characters in-game.
Sakumon launched on iOS and Android this week. The mobile game lets players collect and battle creatures called Sakumon, explore a shared multiplayer island hub and use physical figurines to unlock characters in the app.
Players take the role of a child who captures and raises Sakumon, assembles teams for battles with other players and visits the island hub to socialize. Core gameplay centers on collecting creatures, progressing through battles and interacting with other players online.
The game offers a physical-figures feature that links toys to digital content. Figurines sold through Sakumon’s official website can be scanned or registered to unlock the matching Sakumon in a player account. At launch the figurines are available online but have not seen wide retail distribution.
Multiplayer features include matchmaking for player-versus-player battles and shared social spaces on the island. The developer provides pricing, the number of figurines available at launch and instructions for linking toys on the official Sakumon site.
Sakumon joins other recent mobile creature-collector releases in the market. Further details and updates are available on the game’s official site.
