SDCC trailer reveals Omega Red and The Hand in Marvel’s Wolverine
Insomniac Games’ SDCC trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine confirms Omega Red and the ninja group The Hand as antagonists.
Insomniac Games premiered a new Marvel’s Wolverine trailer at San Diego Comic-Con that confirms Omega Red and the ninja group The Hand as antagonists in the PlayStation 5 exclusive. The trailer is separate from the ‘Ain’t No Hero’ cinematic released last week.
The studio also confirmed Bolivar Trask as an opposing force. Trask is the Marvel inventor behind the Sentinel programme, and the trailer places mutant-extermination technology at the centre of the game’s conflicts. Lady Deathstrike, revealed last week, appears again among the adversaries.
Panel remarks outlined Logan’s past service with Team X alongside Sabretooth and Mystique under Nathaniel Essex. Insomniac noted that the characters’ reunion is an element that drives the game’s plot.
Insomniac issued a prequel comic the same day as the SDCC panel. The studio described the comic as intended to explain the relationships and grudges already in motion when the game begins.
Composer Bear McCreary spoke at the panel about the score and described musical choices tied to characters, using distorted rock for Sabretooth and harp and guitar cues for Jean Grey. The full soundtrack will be released on August 28, ahead of the game’s launch.
Marvel’s Wolverine is scheduled to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026. The new trailer and the panel detail multiple antagonist forces in the story, including technological threats from Trask, covert operations by The Hand, and personal vendettas involving Omega Red and Lady Deathstrike.
Insomniac has released several narrative materials ahead of the September launch, including last week’s ‘Ain’t No Hero’ cinematic and the prequel comic issued at SDCC, to provide context for characters and conflicts before the game becomes available.
