Shaolong Leads Watering Roles in Palworld 1.0

Shaolong is the top endgame watering Pal in Palworld 1.0. Pengullet is the recommended early-game choice, while Penking covers multiple base tasks.

Shaolong is identified as the top watering Pal for endgame bases in Palworld 1.0. The dragon-type Pal appears in the World Tree area late in the campaign, can be raised to level 10 Watering with training books, and also performs well in combat, making it usable both at a base and on expeditions.

Pengullet is commonly available near the starter area and is the primary early-game watering Pal. It provides additional Handiwork, Transporting, and Cooling suitability, which supports initial base setup and item management. Players typically replace Pengullet with higher-suitability watering Pals as base demand increases.

Penking offers the widest range of work suitability among watering Pals, covering Watering, Transporting, Mining, Cooling, and Handiwork. Its individual suitability ratings are modest, so Penking is most useful when a base needs a single Pal to fill multiple roles rather than maximize output in one task.

Watering work keeps crops producing, supplies the Mill, and runs the Crusher that outputs Paldium Fragments. Paldium Fragments are required to craft Pal Spheres. Many workstations sit in different locations, so Pals with higher movement speed and stronger Watering suitability reduce delays and help maintain continuous production.

Other watering options available to players include Jormuntide, Azurobe, Broncherry Aqua and Elphidran Aqua. These Pals vary in availability and Watering suitability across the game, giving players choices outside the endgame.

In base production lines, Watering Pals are typically paired with Kindling Pals to process food and with Transporting Pals to move materials between workstations and storage. Bases that intend to produce Pal Spheres must maintain steady Crusher input to avoid shortages of Paldium Fragments.

Players should select Watering Pals based on campaign progress, the number and placement of workstations, and whether the Pal is needed for combat. Early bases commonly use Pengullet or Penking for versatility and availability. Late-game bases most often employ Shaolong for higher Watering levels and movement speed.
