Short Circuit Studios launches Fortunes of Battle on mobile
Fortunes of Battle, a roguelike first-person dungeon crawler with dice-based combat and single-hero runs, launched today on iOS and Android from Short Circuit Studios.
Short Circuit Studios released Fortunes of Battle on iOS and Android today. The game is a roguelike first-person dungeon crawler that uses dice-based combat, single-hero runs and 2.5D dark fantasy visuals.
Players control a single hero during each run. They fight monsters, collect weapons and relics, and spend resources to upgrade heroes between attempts. Each playthrough features different level layouts, enemy placements and loot.
Combat outcomes are resolved through a dice system that introduces chance to encounters. Players can unlock and improve multiple hero options over time, and relics and equipment modify abilities or provide new tactical options during runs.
The game presents environments in a layered 2.5D style with lighting effects and distinct monster models. The visual approach is designed to preserve performance on mobile devices while displaying forested paths and interior chambers in first-person view.
Short Circuit Studios previously released smaller-scale titles including Teeny Tiny Trains, Teeny Tiny Towns and Townsfolk. Fortunes of Battle departs from the studio’s earlier catalogue into darker, roguelike design.
The roguelike structure produces varied runs as relics, enemy placements and available equipment change between attempts. Progression depends on accumulating upgrades for heroes and using found items to advance deeper into dungeons. Fortunes of Battle is available now for download on the App Store and Google Play.
