Sky Oceans: Wings for Hire lands on Android
Octeto Studios released Sky Oceans: Wings for Hire on Android as a paid premium port; the developer has not announced an iOS release date.
Octeto Studios SpA has released Sky Oceans: Wings for Hire on Android as a paid premium port. The game is available on the Google Play Store as a one-time purchase; the studio has not provided a date for an iOS release.
Sky Oceans first launched on PC and consoles in 2024. The Android edition preserves the turn-based aerial combat and JRPG-style story of the original, placing players in the role of Glenn Windwalker, a young captain who recruits a crew of sky pirates to oppose the Alliance while exploring floating towns and distinct cultures above the clouds.
Combat plays out as tactical dogfights where players position ships, activate crew abilities and manage resources during encounters. Outside battles, players can recruit companions, unlock and upgrade skills, and modify sections of their airship to change performance and survivability.
The port includes systems for resource management and ship upgrades that let players expand parts of the vessel and prepare the crew for tougher fights. Exploration sends players to floating settlements where they can interact with local characters, resolve conflicts and access side quests that advance the narrative.
Visual design draws on Studio Ghibli influences, with hand-drawn environments and character-focused scenes that accompany the story. The Android release is offered as a premium product rather than a free-to-play title, and pricing on Google Play reflects a single-purchase model.
Octeto Studios has not disclosed plans for cross-platform save support or synchronization between mobile and other platforms. Additional details about an iOS launch have not been released.
