Square Enix will end service for the mobile game Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis on October 6. In-game purchases were suspended ahead of the shutdown, and players can continue to access the game until servers close on that date.
Ever Crisis launched in 2023. The game retold the story of the 1997 Final Fantasy VII and included content drawn from related projects such as Advent Children and Crisis Core. It was delivered in an episodic format for mobile devices.
The title will close before its third anniversary, having operated just past two years. Square Enix halted microtransactions prior to the scheduled end of service. The company has not published details on refunds, account transfers or post-shutdown support. Players who purchased items will retain access to that content until servers go offline.
Square Enix has previously ended service for other mobile projects based on its console franchises. Other Final Fantasy mobile releases, including Dissidia Duellum, remain available for players who prefer alternate mobile adaptations of the series.
Square Enix’s official notice directed players to the game’s website and the company’s social channels for updates on account closure and any compensation policies. No additional guidance beyond the end-of-service date has been released.
