S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 DLC previews Chornobyl Power Plant, Iron Forest

GSC Game World published a location showcase trailer for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope that highlights two new areas: the Chornobyl Power Plant and the Iron Forest. The Cost of Hope expansion will be available on August 20 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The trailer focuses on atmosphere and environments rather than extended gameplay. It offers longer views of two parts of the Zone that were previously inaccessible in the series.

The Chornobyl Power Plant returns as a major location, shown with deteriorated industrial interiors, collapsed corridors and exterior landmarks adapted to the sequel’s engine. Visuals present machinery, damaged control rooms and concrete structures around the plant.

The Iron Forest appears as a woodland with industrial remains, including abandoned facilities, overgrown installations and rusted infrastructure. The footage highlights narrow paths, derelict buildings and areas covered by vegetation and debris.

GSC Game World confirmed both locations will be difficult to reach and will require new navigation and survival approaches. The developer said players who reach these zones will find new story missions linked to the expansion’s narrative.

Cost of Hope continues the storyline begun in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl and adds new regions, missions and characters. The expansion’s environments aim to expand the Zone’s geography and narrative content.

The trailer emphasizes scale and mood over mechanics, showing ruined structures, derelict equipment and altered terrain. It provides a preview of the expansion’s visual style and the conditions players can expect when exploring these areas.

Cost of Hope is the first major story expansion following Heart of Chornobyl. Players will be able to access the Chornobyl Power Plant and the Iron Forest starting August 20 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
