NovoBuild LLC has launched Stonegate: The Mad Baron on iOS. The game is available to download now on the App Store.

Stonegate is a first-person, party-based dungeon crawler. The base download is free; the first dungeon, Depth 1, is free to play while a one-time $7.99 Full Campaign Unlock provides access to Depths 2 through 6.

Players assemble a party of six adventurers and explore six hand-crafted dungeon depths. Each floor contains secret doors, treasure rooms, traps and special encounters.

Combat is tactical and turn-based. Encounters present groups of enemies that require use of party abilities, weapons and armor. Character roles include fighters, thieves, priests, mages and rarer elite classes.

Healing and magic resources are limited, requiring players to manage health, spell uses and supplies and decide when to withdraw. Each deeper floor adds difficulty and features a unique guardian designed to test party composition and tactics.

The developer has structured the release without ads, consumable premium currency or paid systems that boost character power. The initial depth is offered free so players can sample core mechanics before buying the single upgrade.

Design elements draw on classic role-playing games: a first-person perspective, party management and hand-crafted, fixed encounters rather than randomized loot.

Stonegate: The Mad Baron is available on iOS. NovoBuild has not announced an Android release or other platform plans.
