TennoCon 2026 demo reveals darker Soulframe Warsongs

At TennoCon 2026 Digital Extremes showed Warsongs, introduced the Vadagar Pact and wolf mounts, and opened limited Preludes alpha sign-ups during the event.

Digital Extremes presented Warsongs, a new Soulframe demo, on the TennoCon 2026 main stage and in a daytime devstream. The studio unveiled the Vadagar Pact, rideable wolf mounts, and limited sign-ups for the Preludes alpha during the event. Preludes remains an invite-only alpha, but attendees and online visitors could register for guaranteed permanent access via the official Soulframe site until 8:59 p.m. PDT / 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, July 12, and 4:59 a.m. BST / 5:59 a.m. CEST on Monday, July 13.

The Warsongs demo centers on a quest of the same name that focuses on the villain faction called The Ode. The sequence introduces Tempest Bayor, a recurring antagonist, and intercuts present-day combat with flashbacks tied to the Envoy’s family. The demo reveals the fate of the Envoy’s mother and culminates in a confrontation with Bayor.

The Vadagar Pact offers a set of shadow-based abilities labeled Wrath, Doom and Death, presented as a contrast to the game’s existing Courage, Spirit and Grace abilities. The demo showed slam attacks, enemy-stopping effects and the ability to summon multiple corrupted mounts modeled on creatures from the Mendicant Reinbreaker boss encounter. Digital Extremes CEO Steve Sinclair described the Pact as allowing players to “become the monsters that The Ode are creating and use that against them.”

Mounts are scheduled to arrive in Fall 2026. The studio demonstrated summonable wolf mounts that players can customize and bond with through a progression track. Players will be able to form multiplayer packs to travel together. The demo also introduced a fishing mechanic with a catch screen to record catches and related small-game interactions.

TennoCon attendees saw the Mendicant Reinbreaker boss fight in the showcase. The presentation, led by Expedition 33 cast members Ben Starr and Jennifer English, included scenes where animals are harmed by corrupting forces and then healed. New weapons on display included a malleable, extended-range bone-like sword and several large visual-effect abilities tied to the Vadagar Pact. Sinclair characterized the update as “our Spider-Man 3 update for Soulframe,” referencing a tonal shift toward a darker presentation.

Digital Extremes described Warsongs as a more cohesive preview of the game compared with earlier demos and indicated the Warsongs update will arrive in a broadly defined “Fallish” window. The studio has not announced a final release date for Soulframe. Players wishing to request guaranteed Preludes access were directed to register on the official Soulframe website before the TennoCon sign-up deadline.
