Tianlong Origin soft-launches in Thailand on iOS and Android

9RING, the publishing label of developer Neocraft, has begun a soft launch of Tianlong Origin: Awakening the Legend in Thailand. The mobile game is available on Android and iOS and is an officially licensed adaptation of Jin Yong’s Eight Heavenly Dragons novel.

The title places players in an open-world wuxia setting where they can follow story events from the source material and a new chapter created for the game. Players choose from eight named martial arts sects, including Emei, Shaolin, Wudang and the Beggar’s Sect. Each sect provides distinct combat styles, skill sets and progression paths.

Gameplay options include solo story missions, cooperative encounters, recruitable allies, fights against renowned masters, dungeon-style challenges and open-world exploration. The game features named characters from the novel, such as Qiao Feng, integrated into narrative encounters and missions.

Player-versus-player systems range from small skirmishes to coordinated large-scale Sect Wars that match organized groups against rival factions. Persistent online systems include guild cooperation for territorial control, pet raising, item trading and social features to support group play.

Visual design uses character models, environment art and martial arts animations optimized for mobile devices. The soft launch is being used to evaluate combat balance, server performance and player feedback before a wider release. No global release date has been announced.

Thai users can download the game from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store while the title remains in soft launch. Tianlong Origin joins other licensed adaptations of Jin Yong’s work and draws on the original novel’s ensemble cast and interwoven social and moral conflicts for its narrative framework.
