Townsmen Rebuild Tops 1.5M Wishlists Ahead of Launch

Townsmen: A Kingdom Rebuilt has surpassed 1.5 million wishlists on digital storefronts ahead of a planned multiplatform release.

Townsmen: A Kingdom Rebuilt has reached more than 1.5 million wishlists on digital storefronts ahead of its planned multiplatform release, according to the developer announcement. The milestone was revealed before a formal launch window; specific release dates and a full platform list were not provided.

The new version is a ground-up rebuild of the Townsmen series. The release abandons the franchise’s previous freemium model in favour of a fully premium product and includes updated graphics and revised controls intended for both desktop and mobile inputs.

Townsmen originated as a city-building title on early mobile platforms. Subsequent entries moved to freemium mechanics and the franchise’s visibility declined. The current build returns to a traditional city-builder design while modernising presentation and input methods.

Wishlist totals are commonly used by developers and publishers to estimate pre-release interest for paid titles and to guide marketing and distribution plans. The 1.5 million figure was reported ahead of the publisher’s announcement of a launch window.

Developers state the release aims to reach players familiar with the series as well as new audiences across multiple storefronts. No pricing details were included in the wishlist update.
