Uta Macross returns as premium rhythm game in Spring 2027

AUGUST Inc. will relaunch Uta Macross as a premium rhythm game for Android, iOS and PC in Spring 2027, with a CAMPFIRE crowdfunding campaign starting September 10, 2026.

AUGUST Inc. will relaunch Uta Macross as a premium rhythm game for Android, iOS and PC in Spring 2027. The company will open a CAMPFIRE crowdfunding campaign on September 10, 2026 to support development.

Members of the original development team have reunited under the Uta Macross Revival Project to rebuild the title beyond its original mobile design. The team plans keyboard and mouse support for the PC version and intends to offer the game as a premium release rather than as a live-service product.

The Standard Edition at launch is expected to include about 50 songs drawn from multiple entries in the Macross franchise, including The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Macross Plus, Macross 7, Macross Frontier and Macross Delta. The release will provide more than 1,000 collectible Plates at four-star rarity or higher and over 20 outfits per singer from the start. The gacha system will be revised to allow unlimited pulls designed to increase the rarity of already owned Plates.

AUGUST Inc. plans downloadable content packs to restore additional songs and selected Plates and outfits that appeared in the original live-service version. The team plans to add more songs and may expand platform support depending on the crowdfunding response and community demand.

The CAMPFIRE campaign will offer exclusive rewards for backers, with funds intended to finance further development and to create a version that remains playable for years.

The original game, Uta Macross: Smartphone De Culture, ended service in 2022. Persistent requests from fans and the reunion of original developers led to the Revival Project and the current plan to bring the game back in a premium format.
