Valorant Mobile to get World Cup skins; PC gets cosmetics

China’s Valorant Mobile will get an exclusive World Cup-themed Match Day bundle with weapon skins, while PC is set to receive only a buddy, a yellow/red card flex and an animated vuvuzela spray.
Valorant Mobile is set to add an exclusive World Cup-themed Match Day bundle featuring multiple weapon skins and cosmetics, while the PC version is expected to receive a smaller set of items. The gap in content has drawn complaints from players on PC.
The mobile-only bundle, prepared for Valorant’s China-exclusive client, includes a Butterfly Knife skin with color variants inspired by national teams, a Vandal skin, a Bandit weapon skin, “shoes” chibi gun charms, an emote, and a whistle-and-card flex. The finisher shows a player performing a bicycle kick before a colorful explosion. The Match Day buddy, shaped like a football boot, can evolve into a golden boot when a player secures multiple eliminations or earns match MVP.
On PC, early previews indicate players will receive the football boot buddy that tracks performance, the yellow/red card flex, and an animated vuvuzela spray. There is no indication that the new weapon skins or the finisher will be available on PC at launch. Pricing and a release date have not been announced.
Riot Games has not provided a timeline for a broader rollout of Valorant Mobile beyond China or stated whether the Match Day weapon skins could arrive on PC at a later date. The company has not shared regional availability details or whether the mobile cosmetics will be time-limited.
Player frustration reflects a familiar pattern across Riot titles. League of Legends players previously raised similar concerns when Wild Rift received exclusive skins and events that were not available on PC.
The football tie-in follows a wider trend of soccer-themed content across competitive games during major international tournaments. For Valorant, the Match Day bundle extends the game’s seasonal cosmetic offerings, while the PC items offer a narrower set of event content.
Valorant launched on PC in 2020 and has grown a large esports scene. Previously, Riot nerfed Valorant duelist Neon, calling the balance ‘challenging ’. Valorant Mobile is currently available only in China. Local market reports indicate the mobile version surpassed 10 million daily players and generated about $1 million in revenue on its first day, reflecting strong early engagement with the title in that market.
