Valve removes Meepo from Dota 2 matchmaking after exploit

Valve has temporarily removed Meepo from Dota 2 matchmaking, including Turbo, after bugs allowed players to bypass cooldowns, duplicate items and increase the hero’s health without limit.

The exploits affected Meepo’s abilities and items. Players used them to repeatedly activate Hand of Midas, duplicate artifacts and accumulate gold quickly. Other bugs let Meepo gain unlimited health, making the hero extremely difficult to defeat.

Valve released several emergency fixes in the days before the matchmaking ban. The updates targeted incorrect interactions between Meepo’s clones and Aghanim’s Scepter. Players found additional ways to exploit the hero’s mechanics after the fixes.

Valve has not announced when Meepo will return to standard matchmaking or Turbo. The company has not confirmed whether it will change the hero’s mechanics before restoring access.
