Vampire Survivors Fortnite collab put under review

Vampire Survivors developer Poncle is reviewing a planned Fortnite collaboration after Epic revealed AI tools in its Unreal Engine 6 announcement.
Poncle, the developer of Vampire Survivors, said it is “reviewing” a planned collaboration with Fortnite after Epic Games revealed new AI features in its Unreal Engine 6 announcement this week.
Epic unveiled Unreal Engine 6 and showcased several new AI tools and integrations during the announcement. The company also announced a Fortnite crossover with Vampire Survivors. The studio expects to provide an update on the collaboration in about two weeks.
Parts of the developer community reacted negatively to the AI features. Some creators raised concerns about how the tools will be used in game production and whether they could replace or alter work that has traditionally been made by hand.
Several developers and players commented that announcing game tie-ups at the same event as major AI plans can create a perception that studios endorse Epic’s AI approach. The review prompted questions about whether Poncle had anticipated the emphasis on AI in the announcement.
Fortnite collaborations typically include custom, hand-made cosmetic items and other in-game content. With Poncle pausing the announcement, the exact content of the crossover and how those items would be produced remain unclear.
Poncle is the studio behind Vampire Survivors and several spin-offs. If the collaboration proceeds, it would bring Vampire Survivors content into Fortnite’s player base. The studio will announce its decision after completing the review in about two weeks.
