Viral fan-made GTA 6 launch-week contract amuses online

A UK couple printed and signed a fan-made ‘GTA VI’ contract that grants the man uninterrupted play from Nov. 19 through Nov. 29. A photo of the signed page was posted online and went viral before the original post was removed.
The one-page document uses fan-created Grand Theft Auto-style branding and sets rules for launch-week gaming. Clauses bar interruptions during missions, cutscenes or heists until the player reaches a safe point and pre-approve extended marathon sessions.
The contract forbids walking in front of the television, allows household chores and errands to be postponed, and lists playful penalties for overused lines such as “it’s just a game.” Both partners signed the sheet.
The couple described the page as a humorous way to formalize time set aside for the game’s release and added the document is not a legal agreement. Representatives for the game’s publisher were not involved and no legal claims are associated with the contract.
Online responses included praise for the creativity, mentions of similar household arrangements and humorous criticism. The post’s circulation highlighted how some fans schedule around major game launches.
Grand Theft Auto VI arrives more than a decade after the previous numbered entry. The game’s release has prompted several businesses to announce adjusted hours or temporary closures for launch-related events, and many players have prepared personal schedules for play time.
The printed contract joins other fan-created launch-week rituals and merchandise produced during the build-up to the game’s release. The couple’s photo remains a private, humorous gesture and is not enforceable as a legal agreement.
