War Robots turns Shenzhen into stadium for World Iron Cup
War Robots remodeled the Shenzhen map into a football-style stadium and launched the World Iron Cup running June 30–Aug 11. Update 12.2 adds the Vulcan robot, Lumen weapons, Lar drone and two pilots.
War Robots updated its Shenzhen map into a football-themed stadium and launched the World Iron Cup event from June 30 to August 11 as part of Update 12.2. The update adds a new robot, a family of weapons, a companion drone, two pilots and an Ultimate upgrade branch for an existing Titan.
The Shenzhen map received a visual overhaul that replaces ruined terrain with spray-painted turf lines, holographic ball telemetry, glowing goalposts, heavy floodlights and drifting signal smoke. Core gameplay remains player-versus-player robot combat, but matches now take place inside the stadium setting for the duration of the event.
The new robot, Vulcan, belongs to the DSC faction and is built around an experimental thermo-kinetic reactor. The reactor overheats in two stages as Vulcan deals damage. Completing both stages permanently grants two additional light weapon slots, activates an automated laser cannon, and enables a persistent Force Field.
Update 12.2 also introduces Lumen Energy Weaponry in Light, Medium and Heavy variants. Lumen weapons use a soft-lock guidance system that can curve projectiles around cover. Each hit applies a stacking Heat status effect that increases damage from subsequent hits.
Lar is a companion drone intended for robots with more than four weapon slots. When equipped, Lar applies a Death Mark to targets and, while the drone’s Force Field is active, prevents slowdown and lockdown effects on the host robot.
The aerial Titan Murometz received an exclusive Ultimate upgrade branch. The changes increase its base durability, shorten the EMP Blast cooldown, and extend airtime. While airborne, Murometz can deploy unguided Ultimate Bulava and Kisten rockets to expand its area-denial and attack options.
Two pilots join the roster in Update 12.2. Ines Diaz accelerates Vulcan’s reactor thresholds. Marie Aldrich improves Murometz’s survivability and performance during flight.
Update 12.2 replaces the previous Martian Robotic Games desert setting on Shenzhen with the stadium to align the map with the World Iron Cup event, which runs through August 11.
