Wardogs’ Blue Team Gets Balance Changes in Season 2

Bulkhead is changing Wardogs’ blue-team spawns and testing bonuses in Season 2 after identifying visibility, spawn and player-choice factors behind the team’s lower win rate.

Bulkhead is preparing changes for Wardogs’ blue team after describing it as having a “notoriously lower win rate” than the other teams. The developer links the gap to blue uniforms that are easier to see, spawn locations that can create disadvantages and player choices during team selection.

Season 2 will bring new spawn points on the Bakurani map. Bulkhead has identified matches in which the red team overwhelmed blue, while green benefited from a defensive position built around two towers before winning the match.

The developer is also testing incentives for players who choose blue. During Season 2, blue-team players will receive in-game cash and XP bonuses, along with higher teamplay multipliers. The incentives are expected to apply during that season, although Bulkhead has not confirmed whether they will remain afterward.

A new catch-up system may give players on a losing team a 20% discount in the in-game shop. Bulkhead has not specified whether the discount will apply to all losing players or under which match conditions it will be issued.

Player sentiment may contribute to blue’s results. Players often describe the team as the weakest option, which may discourage experienced players from selecting it. Bulkhead has not confirmed that this perception directly affects the team’s win rate. Other possible influences include blue being the first team listed on the selection screen and the color’s less aggressive associations.

Wardogs remains in early access, allowing Bulkhead to test changes to team balance and match design. The developer has not provided a target win rate for blue or detailed how the Season 2 adjustments will affect match outcomes.
