Warframe launches Jade Shadows: Constellations update

Digital Extremes released Jade Shadows: Constellations for Warframe, continuing the 2024 Jade Shadows quest and adding a switchable Sirius/Orion Warframe, two Protoframes, new weapons and Styanax Prime.

Digital Extremes released Jade Shadows: Constellations for Warframe. The update is live in-game and continues the 2024 Jade Shadows quest, expanding the story around the Stalker and his children, Sirius and Orion.

The update adds a single playable Warframe that lets players switch between Sirius and Orion during play. Each form can be customized separately and comes with its own signature scythe weapons.

Two Protoframes join the game. Protoframes are partially transitioned, human-like precursors that carry the Helminth strain but have not become full Warframes. The new Protoframes are Ryoku, a hooded, masked reinterpretation of Ash, and Vena, a dreadlocked, pierced take on Garuda. In the Constellations story, Ash’s influence reaches Sirius while Garuda mentors Orion, and players choose which side to follow.

The update adds new Railjack missions focused on multiplayer and narrative. Creative Director Rebecca Ford described the missions as ‘story-driven’ and confirmed there will be no Archwing mode added for parity. Ryoku’s and Vena’s ships include unique systems for players who follow those quest branches.

Two weapons receive Incarnon variants. The Vectis Incarnon fires spheres that inflict damage over time or create an area explosion on a headshot. The Stug Incarnon spawns bouncing spheres that radiate outward from a target to deal area damage. The update also adds two Arcanes, Sculptor and Compression, and new Augment mods for Dante, Koumei, Nokko, and Temple. New hairstyles for Operators and Drifters reflect the Protoframe designs.

Styanax Prime is available with the update. Digital Extremes published Orion- and Sirius-inspired color palettes that players can claim for free by choosing a side on the official website; the rewards are delivered by email.

The Constellations update continues the Tau storyline and precedes TennoCon, where Digital Extremes plans further announcements. The update is available to download now.
