World of Warships: Legends adds U.S. ships for Independence Day
The update adds a tier VIII South Dakota-class battleship, Indiana, and four destroyer hulls with Advanced Radar in a seasonal Independence Day release.
World of Warships: Legends released an Independence Day update that adds a tier VIII South Dakota-class battleship, Indiana, and four alternate U.S. destroyer hulls.
The destroyers are named Kane, Hughes, Osborne and Christopher and span tiers V through VIII. Each hull includes an Advanced Radar module that periodically reveals enemy ships on the minimap that have not been spotted. Players can obtain these hulls via Alternative Destroyer Crates and the Steel Eagles random bundle.
Players can unlock the South Dakota-class battleship Indiana by completing the Pacific Hammer campaign while keeping Admiralty Backing active. The campaign completion is a progression requirement tied to that reward.
The update introduces a time-limited Big Chief Calendar event. Completing the calendar awards a new commander, Ernest E. Evans, and commander guises representing other U.S. naval officers.
A new special currency, Independium, is available during the event. Independium can be exchanged for the legendary destroyer USS Burrows. The event package also includes a range of activities and purchasable bundles connected to the holiday.
The update was released during the weekend that marks the 250th anniversary of the United States and forms part of the game’s seasonal celebration for Independence Day. The patch combines campaign rewards, event progression and purchasable crate options for acquiring the new ships and commander items.
The patch files add the new hulls, a battleship reward, a new commander, commander guises and the Independium currency to the game’s available content.
