Square Enix has added Sphene\u2019s Neo Citizen\u2019s Attire from the Dawntrail expansion to the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store. The outfit is sold in three separate pieces for body, legs and feet at the NPC costume set price of $12 \/ \u00a37.44. Each piece is sold independently, all pieces are double-dyeable and the set is not gender-locked; the hood on the coat cannot be removed.<\/p>
The outfit recreates Sphene\u2019s casual look from Dawntrail, combining a hoody, jean shorts, leggings and boots. Color channels are separated so players can dye the shirt and jacket independently. The coat\u2019s inner lining appears fixed to a lighter shade of the outer material in the current release.<\/p>
Square Enix previously released Sphene\u2019s formal Neo Queen\u2019s Attire at the end of April. The Neo Citizen\u2019s Attire has been added to the store alongside other paid cosmetics currently available to players.<\/p>
Recent store releases include the Runway Walk emote and the Hardy-Daytona motorbike mount, which is priced at $30 \/ \u00a320. Several older NPC costume designs from the Heavensward era are listed at half price, including outfits based on Alphinaud, Y\u2019shtola, Thancred, Krile, Ysayle and Aymeric.<\/p>
The coat\u2019s hood cannot be worn separately in the current version. Square Enix has said an “armor piece toggle” feature is planned for the Evercold expansion, which could allow more control over layered costume pieces in future updates.<\/p>
Square Enix Chief Executive Takashi Kiryu referenced additional funding for Final Fantasy XIV development at Fanfest Anaheim. On a Reddit thread about the new glamour set, a post reads, “That’s the funding for FF17 sorted.” Community discussion has noted Sphene\u2019s popularity and demand for her outfits as a factor in their release to the Online Store.<\/p>
