The update is part of the Return of the Ancients content cycle and is live now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Players earn points for the new tree by defeating bosses along the Grand Expedition questline. The tree mixes permanent bonuses with nodes that offer selectable modifiers. Several nodes change how Remnant encounters run, while others improve Logbook drop rates or add buried Sentinels that grant nearby enemies extra runic power when uncovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n        <blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n            <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/user\/status\/2069960414016974864\" rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a>\n            <noscript>\n                <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/user\/status\/2069960414016974864\" target=\"_blank\"rel=\"noopener nofollow\">\n                    View this tweet on Twitter\n                <\/a>\n            <\/noscript>\n        <\/blockquote>\n        <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n    \n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One early node, &#8220;Feeling Lucky?&#8221;, causes the seasonal NPC Farrow to sell Liquid Verisium. Using that item starts Remnant encounters with a random roll of runes instead of the standard choices. Other node options let players add an extra explosive charge to each encounter, spawn an additional Remnant, make explosions chain more quickly, cause explosions to remove 25% of enemy health, or give Remnant chains a one-in-four chance to activate twice. A different node can disable Remnant chains entirely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Patch 0.5.4 also changes how some unique items work. Uniques that grant additional skills when equipped will now scale those skills down for lower-level characters. Game Director Jonathan Rogers explained, &#8220;There are so many uniques with interesting skills that only drop from high levels, and it was a real shame you couldn&#8217;t use them until the late endgame. This should open up a whole bunch of builds available to play much earlier.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After defeating Atziri in the Temple, players can obtain four Orbs of Sacrifice. Each orb upgrades a corrupted enchantment on an item but removes a randomly selected modifier. Items with double corruption can have both enchantments upgraded by using two orbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The update adds a new unique from the Abyss pinnacle boss the Vessel of Kulemak. The Master&#8217;s Reach gloves reveal marked segments on enemies&#8217; health bars; hitting enemies while their health is in those segments converts dealt damage into life and grants bonus skill speed. The gloves also provide a new skill, Untether, which plants a seed of Abyssal Energy on an enemy&#8217;s heart; dealing damage or killing the target after the seed is applied detonates the heart and deals heavy physical damage to nearby foes. Grinding Gear Games noted the Master&#8217;s Reach is the first of several Vessel of Kulemak uniques planned for release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Patch 0.5.4 includes additional quality-of-life changes and bug fixes, including an option to hide the &#8220;You Have Died&#8221; message. Grinding Gear Games continues to prepare Path of Exile 2 for a 1.0 launch scheduled for the end of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this month, <a
