On the Rock and Borys podcast, at about the 30:20 mark, Niespielak relayed a single source he identified as internal to Rockstar Games. He added that the Xbox Series S is currently targeting 30fps only, though Rockstar is reportedly working with Microsoft to try to reach 60fps on that platform as well. The 60fps option could arrive as a post‑launch update if it is not ready at release.

Niespielak has previously published accurate reports about other developers, including early details about upcoming titles in another franchise and a later expansion. The current claim is based on one unnamed source and represents his first reported leak concerning Rockstar. Rockstar Games has not confirmed any performance targets or platform details for GTA 6.

Delivering a stable 60 frames per second in a large open world requires significant technical work. GTA 6 is widely expected to be a large and detailed title, and maintaining high visual fidelity while running at 60fps on current base consoles would involve substantial optimization. Grand Theft Auto 5 launched on older consoles capped at 30fps and only gained a 60fps performance mode years later with its current‑generation re-release.

Frame rate can influence purchase decisions for many players. A near‑launch 60fps option would be relevant to consumers choosing between platforms or deciding when to buy the game.

No release date, official performance targets, or further technical details have been provided by Rockstar or platform holders. Until the developer issues formal information, reports about frame‑rate options for GTA 6 should be treated as unverified.

Journalist Borys Niespielak claims GTA 6 could launch with 30fps and 60fps modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X; Series S is reportedly targeting 30fps.

[12

post-1354","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-latest

GTA 6 leak: 60fps mode claimed for PS5 and Xbox Series X

<meta name="description" content="Journalist Borys Niespielak says GTA 6 may launch with 30fps and optional 60fps modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X; Series S reportedly targets 30fps.
